1 FAST WORK REPORTED AT LOUISVILLE. Louisville, Ky., August 2i. Many horses worked at Churchill Downs and Douglas Park yesterday, and in several instances, especially at the former track, sood speed was shown. Ainoret worked a fast half, running the distance in 4S;, the first quarter of which she covered in 23 and three-eighths in 3G. Another good move was made by Butter Ball, in Pat Dunnes stable, which went three-eighths in 30. Other work-outs were: Agawam Half mile in 54. under a strong pull. Bettio Sue Five-eighths in 1:05. easily. Cash on Delivery Half mile in 532, at Douglas Park. Discontent Half mile in 54, cantering. Explicit Quarter mile in 24, cantering. Eye White Quarter mile in 242, easily. Falcada Three-eighths in 39, under restraint. Free Lance Quarter mile in 25. Gold of Ophir Half mile in 55, pulling up. Jenny Gcddes Quarter mile in 25. easily. Lord Dixon Half mile in 51. cantering. O Bear Quarter mile in 25, well in hand. Pink and Black Quarter mile in 20, slowing down. Robert Quarter mile in 25, at Douglas Park. Royal Report Mile in 1:55. Soua Three-quarters in 1:191. at Douglas Park. Spalding Three-quarters in 1:19. Tender Bloom Half mile in 53. easily. That unlucky four-year-old, Boca Grande, Is again tnking exercise. He -was about the sickest horse in W. II. Fizers stable when disease swept through the barn at Latonia recently, and when ho reached Churchill Downs he was almost a wreck. He is now being galloped with a lead horse, without a rider, and trainer Fizer hopes he will be able to race him before the Kentucky season ends. Trainer Fizer has at present about the biggest stable in his care that is in training in Kentucky. He has twenty-five horses at Churchill Downs and only one yearling in the stable. This is a handsome chestnut colt by Marta Santa. Trainer Fizer has no less than fourteen two-year-olds in bis stable, a number of which have never raced. One of these is a bay gelding out of the good race mare. Miss Golightly, and he attracts much attention, as he is the first thoroughbred Mr. Fizer ever bred. He is a blockily-built gelding. All of traiuer Fizers horses are now looking remarkably well considering the sickness they have undergone. Judge Sale, Discontent. Al Longfellow, Mnd Sill. Plnkola, Eye White, Sauce, Plutocrat, Floral Day and Judge Walton all promise to bo ready for racing when the fall meeting begins here on September 23. Among the five yearlings trainer Brooks is breaking for the Louisville turfman, W. F. Schultc, is a half-brother to King Olympian, by Batts, and a colt by Alvescot. out of the good race marc, Flora AVil-loughby. Among the recent additions to trainer Dan Lehnns string at the Downs is the speedy mare, Mollie Montrose, now six years old, and looking unusually well. The conditions of the running race at Churchill Downs on Lalxr Day. during the Elks aviation meeting, which will be held at the local course September 2. 3 and 4, will be three-quarters of a mile, for three-year-olds and upward, live pounds below the scale. The purse hung up is 00, of which 0 goes to the winner, 0 to the second and 0 to the third horse. Only one running race will be given during the meeting. J. C. Fcrriss is again training the good-looking five-year-old horse, Administer, and hopes to get him to the races once more.
