James R. Keene was operated on at a private hospital in London yesterday for intestinal disorder. Ho withstood the operation- successfully and his condition was afterward reported to be "satlsfa-tory." William Garth, who has not raced horses during the winter since the old days at Gloucester, is thinking seriously of sending a string to Jacksonville in the event of racing being resumed in that Florida city the coming winter. During the Churchill Downs meeting the directors of the Jockey Club Juarez will meet at Louisville and at that time plans for the long winter racing season at the .Mexican course will be made public. Winter racing will liegin at Juarez on Thanksgiving day. November SO, and continue far into the spring of 1012. A California turfman who has readied Churchill Downs says that n. G.
