SOME GOOD MOVES AT LEXINGTON. Lexington, Ky.. September 7. E. C. Cowdins Phoenix Hotel Fall Handicap candidate. Swannnnoa. in the string that T. C. McDowell is training, worked a mile in 1:44s at the Kentucky Association course this afternoon. It was accounted by a number dC work watchers as the best mora of the season thus far. Mr. McDowells Star Jasmine, a candidate for the Senorita Stakes, worked a half mile in 50 and his High Brow went five-eighths in 1:0 1. The best move at this distance, however, was l:02i. by Alpine, in the string of T. P. Haves. Electioneer, the Futurity winner of 1906. worked five-eighths in l:02j. James McCauley, his trainer, lias recovered from the injuries received when Electioneer reared up, knocked him down and fell upon him last week. George Ham was thoroughly disgusted witii Donan this morning, no sent the 1010 Kentucky Derby winner out with his stablemale, Hanbridge. to work five-eighths, but after getting a half in 54 Don.m sulked and quit cold. Hanbridge worked on alone in 1:05. Luke Le Blond arrived from Latonia ihis mornmjf witli Gold Mine and American Girl. Steve Judge is hero from Louisville with half a. dozen horses belonging to James McManus and O. A. Bianchi. Jockey George Archibald will he here to ride them. The strings of John S. Ward. Homer Selby and William Wallace arrived trcin Canada tonight. J. W. May and William Karrlck are on the way here from Saratoga with their strings. Racing Secretary Shelley said today that a majority of the horses that are coming from Louisvilla and Latonia will arrive hero Sunday and Monday.
