PRINCE PALATINE WINS THE ST. LEGER. London, Eng., September 13. At Doncaster this nftirnoon eight horses started in the St. Leger for three-year-olds at one mile, six furlongs and 132 yards," value i,i00 sovereigns, and at the liuish T. Pilklngtons bay colt Prince Palatine, by Persimmon Lady Lightfoot. ridden by the American jockey, Frank ONeill, was first by six lengths. J. B. Joels bnv colt, Lvcaon, by Cyllene La Vierge, finished second and Ixrd Derbys hay colt. King William, liv William the Third Glasalt, was third. ".Tames R. Keenes brown colt Havelock, by Delhi Runaway Girl, finished third to Cathay and Milliner in the Rradgate Park Nursery Stakes of 250 sovereigns for two-year-olds at six furlongs. As a two-year-old Prince Palatine started in six races, of which ho won three, the Redfont Plate at Keuipton Park, Downington Castle Plate at Newbury and the valuable Imperial Produce Plate at Keuipton Park. Previous to his St. Leger victory he had started three times this year, running second to Bannockbiirn. when giving the latter twelve jiounds in the Fifly-tlilrd Ascot Biennial Stakes at Ascot; second to Mushroom In the Midsummer; Stakes at the Newmarket Second July meeting and -winning the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood from Ihryxus, Persephone and Invicta.
