Won driving: second and third the same., ISIDORA, a very rapid beginner, dashed to the front In the llnal furlong and drew away after entering the homestretch, but had to be iiard ridden to outstay BWANA TUMBO. The latter, always in closest pursuit, came again in the stretch drive and was wearing the leader down at the end. CHERRY SEED ran well, but was tiring at the finish and just lasted long enough to save third place. .PENOBSCOT closed a big gap and finished fast. JAMES D0CKERY ran well. JAWBONE tired. MUSKMELOX also closed a gap. but finished driving hard to outstav DETROIT. The latter began Slowly, but made up much ground and finished fast. ABE ran under restraint through the first turn of the field, then went to the tiont with a rush when going to the fourteenth fence, but was driving hard at the end to outstay JIMMY 1 AXE. The latter responded gamely when his rider went to the whip and finished wearing the winner down. BACEBKOOK ran in close pursuit of the leaders all the way and finished gamely. VILIIALLA quit. JOE LETT fell at the fourteenth jump and BROXTE lost his rider at the third. CAPTAIN JOHN refused to leave the post. BOB R. moved up quickly when straightened out on the hackstretch and appeared to have TABOO beaten after entering the homestretch, then tired, but came again and would have won In another stride. THE GOLDEN BUTTERFLY was carried wide on the stretch turn, but came again and almost got up to win. LAD OF LANGDEN was under a choking pull in the early running and exhausted himself in struggling against it. SUPERVISOR set a slow pace to the stretch and quit in the final drive.
