Tlie grand appearance of the Bedwell horses is causing favorable comment from other trainers at the Downs and a prosperous season on the Kentucky circuit seems in prospect for Mr. Bedwell. R. Harris arrived from the north to consult 0. A. Bianchi, trainer and racing associate of James MCManus, in reference to securing a contract oil jockey George Archibald to ride in France for the French stable whose horses are being trained by Galen Brown. Mr. Bianchi referred Mr. Harris to Archibald, who is at Lexington, where tlie McManus horses are being trained under the direction of Steve Judge. Mr. Bianchi intimated that Archibald will go abroad on account of his increased weight. He is forced to reject many mounts by reason of the Kuntucky scale of weights. The only arrival today at the Downs was the string of Frank Perkins. He came from Latonia with three two-year-olds, Dahomey Boy, Gay and Madam Phelps. Theodore Abadie has concluded to send no horses to Lexington. Falcada and his other racers, including Felix, are doing so well here that lie has decided to await the opening of the season t tlie Downs. Harry Jones, who was Injured while riding on the fair circuit, has discarded his crutches. He thinks lie will ride during tlie Downs meeting.
