ROYAL CAPTIVE moved into the lead at once and won all the way as her rider pleased. COUNTY TAX shook off HANBRIDGE in the first three furlongs and held second place safe through the stretch.- WORKBOX ran fairly well. HANBRIDGE was close up for a half, then tired. VILEY seemed favored by the going and, taking the lead at once, won all the way, but was tiring at the end and doing his best to outstay TILLIES NIGHTMARE. Tlie latter ran well and was gaining steadily at the end. ALPINE ran forwardly, but was tiring through the last furlong. MAMITA went fairly well. ROSSINI began slowly and showed speed. D., showing much improved form, was in closest pursuit from tlie start and took the lead in the stretch, but swerved in the last sixteentli and seemed to have been beaten by PRINCESS CALLAWAY. The latter came with a rush in tlie stretch and was going gamely at the finish. DONAU showed- the most early speed, but tired near the end.
