ANOTHER RECORD REDUCED LITTLE FATHER RUNS MILE IN 1:38 IN "WINNING HANDICAP AT LOUISVILLE. Colors of W. F. Schulte Carried to Victory by King Olympian and Zienap Woodford and "Wimmer Uncover Likely Filly in Sonada. Louisville, Ky., September 20. W. AV. Pardons Little Father, an. extreme outsider in the betting, ran a sensational race this afternoon when lie won a mile handicap from good opposition in 1:3SJ. reducing the former track record of 1:38, held by Kings Daughter. Little Fathers speed was dazzling throughout and he succeessfully withstood determined challenges from Angelus and Bell Horse. Near the finish he was weakening and Milton 15. was able to get within half a length of him. Milton 15. was going strongest of all near the linish. but swerved in the last sixteenth and caused a jam which probably prevented Hell Horse from beating Aiigelns for third place. The judges deemed C. Turner responsible for the swerving and suspended him for live days for attempted rough riding. Conditions for racing were again ideal, excepting for threatening weather. The attendance was of large proportions, while the sport was again of high class and thoroughly enjoyed by the spectators. I.ackrose was the only successful favorite. AV. F. Schulte, a former president of the local racing association, came into the limelight during the afternoon by scoring a double with King Olympian and Zienap. Both were ridden by T. Koerner. Jt has been a long time since Mr. Schulte won two races in one afternoon and the victories of his representatives were decidedly popular. King Olympian showed himself to be in extra good condition when lie gamely wore down Delaney and John GrllTm II. in the stretch run. Zienap also showed some of her old-time form in outstaying Alice Baird. The latter would have won but for getting into a bad jam on the lirst turn and suffering further interference while going down the backstretch; Woodward and AVimuier uncovered in Sonada, winner of t the tifth race, what may develop into the best. tw-.vear-old lilly of the year. From a slow begin-vKg, which forced her to go around all the others, fh steadily wore down her opposition and finally ffored by a commanding margin .over Sir Blaise. .She has .jdicnvn exceptionally speedy trials and her connections count her the equal of Worth. U. II. Bradleys Brig, which raced, poorly at Lexington, showed vast improvement and led ten other maidens in the opening dasli to win handily over lolly V. and Bouncing Lass. The latter would have been much closer up but for boring out in the fit retch. Secretary Jasper announced a mile and a half race for Monday to serve as a preliminary for the Kentucky Endurance Stakes, to be run October 7. Nadzu, from the II. G. Bedwell stable, was worked this morning in preparation for the big race, lie was sent two miles in 4:091 and repeated later two miles in -1:11. The combination on Brig and King Olympian paid 4.45. The three-horse combination was not picked, enabling the field players to divide the pool. Frank G. Hogan, who is at present in Pasadena, Oal., will bring a party here from the coast to witness the running of the Kentucky Endurance Stakes. Jockeys McTaggart and J. Deavenport were suspended for four days by the starter for disobedience at the post. Berkeley was withdrawn from the second race on account of lameness. J. W. Schorrs string of racers, now being campaigned at Toronto, will le shipped from that point :it the close of the meeting and will engage in Kentucky racing for the remainder of the season. The horses of AV. J. Speirs, T. P. Hayes and II. H. Selby reached here today from Lexington. Henry McDaniel has declined an offer to go to Australia with the I. II. Wheatcroft horses. The latters consignment, consisting of li0 head, will be transferred by special train about October 12 to British Columbia, from which point they will embark for the Antipodes. W. G. Yanke has secured a contract on Jockey Molesworth and will use him for the rest of the meeting here and at its close plans to ship to Mexico City, where a seventeen-day meeting will begin alnnit November 2.
