LAUREL STALLS IN DEMAND. Laurel, Md., September 20. Most of the applica tions for stallroom for the coming meeting of the Maryland State Fair Association have been received and a glance over the list will show that some of the best stables on this continent are scheduled to race at Laurel during the twenty-six days from October 2 to October 31. The applications number 000, and every horse in the list will be looked after, as well as many others that may come later. This number of horses assures first-class fields in all of the overnight races, as well as in the stakes. There are now over 500 stalls in readiness and others will be finished by the time the horsemen start to ship to the track. Those that have been shipped here are already looked after, while many more stalls have been bedded down for the reception of others expected daily. The horses owned by Barney Schreiher, that P. M. Civill is looking after, will leave Toronto tonight for Laurel. Mr. Civill will bring six horses here. The first two cars to be unloaded at the new chuto of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad arrived yesterday noon from Denver. These brought the horses of W. T. Anderson and T. G. Enright, eighteen in all. This Is one of the strongest strings that will be raced here. The horses suffered no ill effects from the long trip. Several trainers and owners from Penning were at the course yesterday to look over the plant. The horses from that point will be shipped to Laurel at once. There arc more than a hundred horses at the Washington track. P. Moran will ship from Baltimore to Laurel tomorrow. Word was received yesterday from S. C. Hildreth that his horses would be shipped here Thursday or Friday. He has asked for fourteen stalls, and the best in his string will be brought over. These horses have been liberally entered In all of the stakes. The horses have been kept in training since leaving the Canadian tracks, and are in racing condition. The horses of Ral Parr, which are being trained. by William Garth, will come from Toronto to Laurel. Mr. Garth has asked for stabling for ten horses, which will include the best of his string, including The Welkin and Ticket of Leave, which are looked upon as the two best jumpers of the season. II. G. Bedwell has asked for more stalls than any other owner. He will bring twenty horses to Laurel. This lot will include Prince Ahmed, Madman and Righteasy. W. P. Burch has asked for ten stalls. He has entered liberally for all the stakes. A. G. Blakeley. who trains the horses of T. W. OBrien, has asked for half dozen stalls.
