PLANS FOE. JUAREZ RACING MANAGER WINN ANNOUNCES MEETING OF 100 DAYS TO BEGIN NOVEMBER 30. Minimum Purse Will Be 00 and Increase Will Come if Conditions Warrant Mexico City to Have Tall and Spring Meeting. Louisville, Ky., October C. James Butler and M. .1. Whin held a conference today in llie offices of the Louisville Racing Association and at its conclusion, an official announcement was made in reference to the winter racing season at Juarez, Mex. There will be 100 days of racing, beginning on Thanksgiving Day, November 30, and it is entirely probable that at the end of that time, the meeting will be extended. Colonel Winn, who is the manager of the Jockey Club Juarez, said: "There will be no purse for less than 00 in view and we shall start giving to the horsemen each day ,000. If, as we anticipate, the interest and patronage justifies it, we shall increase the purses. I am confident that before the conclusion of the Jirst thirty days, conditions will be such that we can offer extra inducements to American turfmen. Pursuing a policy of liberality and keeping faith with the horsemen, and the public as well, I am certain will bring to racing at Juarez, that degree of conlideucc and success which the promoters have had in view upon all occasions and under all circumstances." Colonel Winn, who in connection with Mr. Butler will conduct racing in the City of Mexico, will open a .seventeen-day meeting there beginning October 20. and will leave Louisville next Saturday for the Mexican capital. There will be six high class races over ; the Mexico City course each afternoon and the total money distributed dally to horsemen will bo ,700, ,000 of which will go to the owners of American horses. One race will be provided daily for Mexican-bred racers. The feature event on the opening day will be the Mexican Derby. There will be eight starters. Senor Alexandre do La Arena expects his horse to capture the prize. Senor de La Arena has been in Louisville several days as the guest of Colonel Winn. He will leave Saturday night for the City of Mexico. He is enthusiastic over the future of Mexico and he is especially pleased over the outlook for successful racing in that country. Scrior de La Areua is one of the most "active figures In the Mexican Jockey Club. He announces that at tile termination of the racing season of 1911-1012 at Juarez. Colonel Winn will direct a thirty-days race nieetin" in the City of Mexico. After the spring meeting in the Mexican capital there will be racing every Sunday and every holiday throughout the year.
