Cherryola and Any Tort were coupled in the betting in the fifth race on account of Cherryola bcint; partially owned by Catesby Woodford, who also lias an interest in Any Port. Col. Matt J. Winn telegraphed today from Mexico City, realllrniing judge Prices statement made yesterday to the effect that there is absolutely no dan-ser of interference with Juarez racing by Governor Gonzales. Coionel Winn and bis associates hold a twenty-year irrevocable concession, specifically permitting betting in connection with the racing at Juarez, and horsemen need have no fear of molestation. Colonel Winn also referred glowingly to the prospects for the meeting at Mexico City which begins tombrrow. The horses owned by J. W. Schorr that have been racing iu Maryland arrived today. Dugan was given a big ovatiou when he appeared on the track astride Colonel Ashmeade. Hugau had to battle hard throughout the afternooa for his honors, but he managed to land two winners, one f-econd and a third in four trials. T. Koerne-arried off the honors by piloting two winners, ouu second and three thirds. I. Cambron acquired Irish Kid prior to the third race aud the horse ran In his interest today. Jockey Tapliu, suspended riding after the second nice on account of injuring his hip. It was an yggravatiou of a former trouble. Mary Davis was added to the Criterion Handican at a late hour. She was never seriously prominent in tin; running. Governor Gray will be pointed for the Latonla Endurance Slakes to be ruu on the closing day of the present nicctiug.
