ANOTHER WINTER MEETING IN PROSPECT. Plans Under "Way for Thirty Days of Racing at Columbia, S. C, Beginning November 30. Washington, D. C, November 0. ThlB was Ladles Day at Marlboro, but as rain fell all day the attendance was not up to expectations. The track was In poor condition, but there were few scratches and good sized fields went to the post in the different races. The talent did not have much success in their efforts to pick the mud runners., Shll-lalah being the only winning first choice. If the plans of the promoters of this meeting do not miscarry, they will have a track to fill the gap that Is now vacant between the end of racing at Norfolk and the opening at Charleston. They arc negotiating for the track at Columbia, S. C, and according to present indications, they will secure it, in which event a thirty-days meeting will be given at that place beginning on Thanksgiving Day. H. D. Brown, manager of the Laurel and Havana tracks, was among those who witnessed the racing here this afternoon, and he acted as one of the stewards during the day.
