MARLBORO MEETING TO BE CONTINUED. Washington, D. C, November 7. The mud runners again had things their own way at the Marlboro track this afternoon, but the course was drying out rapidly and it., will probably be in good condition for tomorrows rriees. The usual six races were decided and the sport was interesting, witli two favorites successful. The other winners were well-backed contenders. The two winning favorites were Mylcs OConnell and Jessup Burn, both owned by W. B. Carson and ridden by Hopkins, who resumed riding for the first time since his fall from llatteras a few days ago. Official announcement was made today that racing would be continued at Marlboro throughout next week under the auspices of the Southern Maryland Horse Show. Arthur Elrod. who will niauage the proposed meeting at Columbia, S. C, stated today that a mistake had been made iu announcing that the Marlboro promoters wore behind the Columbia meeting. He said that prominent men of. that city were chiefly interested and that the owner of the track will tomorrow make application to the Jockey Club for dates.
