SHERWOOD was waited with behind the pacemakers to the stretch turn, where he slipped through to the rail when the leaders went wide and drew away to win In a canter. PENNYROYAL set the early pace, hut went very wide when entering the homestretch and was tiring at the end. THRIFTY moved up with a good burst of speed into the lead while rounding the last turn, but tired badly in the stretch. EDWIN L. gained steadily from a slow beginning. JOE GAITENS ran poorly. BLACK BRIDGE was prominent throughout, but tired in the final drive. LIZZIE FLAT showed speed, but quit in the last half. COMING COON, after running in close pursuit of the early pacemaker, moved up fast while rounding the last turn, but tired and just lasted long enough to outstay KITTBRY after disposing of SADIE SHAPIRO. KITTERY worked his way up on the outside and, closing a big gap, finished fast and almost got upto win. SADIE SHAPIRO showed the most speed for a half mile, but tired in the stretch drive. BOB R. was cut off on the first trun and dropped back, but moved up fast while rounding the far turn and, after being forced to the outside fence by the winner when enter ng the homestretch, was gaining with every stride at the end.
