BE, showing much speed in the going, drew away into a long lead while rounding the far turn and was only cantering at the end. MAD RIVER, after closing a gap, came through on the inside and, finishing fast, oulganied LADY McGEK in the final drive. The latter showed speed, but tired under punishment in tho last furlong. EXCALIBUR only ran fairly well. PECASTA quit after running prominently to the stretch. Scratched 99120 Onrico, 102. Overweights Mad River, 2 pounds; Lady McGee, 2; Duke Daffy, 4j. CHILTON SQUAW, off forwardly, ran closest to the rail all the way and, saving ground on every turn, set the pace and outgamed GOLD CAP In the final drive. The latter made a game effort while rounding the last turn and, taking a small lead, appeared to have the winner beaten at the furlong post, but tired in the last twenty yards. HIGHFLOWN ran well and was going fastest of all at the finish. FEATHER DUSTER cle-sed a gap and finished fast. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to 00 and sold to S. Louis. MINNIE BRIGHT, a good mud runner and suddenly improved, drew away into a long lead in the first quarter and was under restraint all of the last furlong. LAD OF LANGDEN ran well, but tired and just lasted long enough to outstay BABY WOLFS rush. The latter began slowly and, closing a big gap In the last quarter, would probably have won if off well. LITTLETON ran well and outstayed SUFFRAGIST in a game stretch drive. Thp latter moved up menacingly on the turn out of the backstretch, but quit after being unable to get to the winner. SUN-LIKE went to tho front at once and, drawing away into an easy lead on the backstretch, was under mild restraint through the last half mile. WOOD DOVE was cut off on the first turn and forced to overcome early interference, but finished fast and was easily best of the others. RED JACKET ran In close pursuit of the leaders to the stretch turn, but was tiring at the end. BRANDY made up ground and finished close up. STAIRS ran moderately well. HELENE set the early pace and was a close contender for a half mile, but was unable to keep pace with the winner. MAROMARA finished -well and easily disposed of FORCE iu the homestretch.
