LEXINGTON SALE IS OVER SECOND DAYS RESULTS SOMEWHAT BETTER THAN THOSE OF OPENING DAY. Eighty-One Yearlings Sold for Average of 63 Each Twenty-Three in One lot Average 23 Brother to Rosebea Brings ,100. Lexington, Ky., November 22. The Powers-Hunter Companys auction of thoroughbred horses was concluded today, with better prices for yearlings than were obtained yesterday for stallions, mares and weanlings. The aggregate for 1S2 head sold during the two days was 0,3G0, making an average of .S0, which is discouragingly low to breeders, uvea though a number of the mares were old and poor in flesh. The eighty-one yearlings sold today brought a total of 3,223, an average of 03. Of these twenty-three were owned In partnership by Messrs. Milton Young, John D. Carr and Thomas Piatt, and they brought ,130, an average of 23. In addition to the yearlings that were sold today, seventeen other animals went under the hammer for .2S3, making a total for the day of ninety-eight head at 4,510, an average of 48. The highest price of the day and sale was ,100 for the yearling brother to Koseben, from the consignment of Major Thomas J. Carson. J. E. Davis of New York and Phil T. Chinn were contending bidders, Mr. Davis last bid being ,050. Mr. Chinn raised him 0 and got the colt, announcing that he had purchased him for J. A. McCormick. The second highest price was 25, paid by J. E. Davis for a brother to Etherial. Mr. Davis and his wife together bought seven head. The yearlings are to be trained here by James P.
