SAINTASA stole away into a decisive lead in the first half mile and was challenged when an eighth out by MAYO, but gamely shook him off. MAYO was hard ridden through the last quarter, but could not overhaul the winner. JUAREZ was a prominent and game contender throughout. TEXAN unseated his rider while at the post and ran away three-quarters o a mile the reverse way of the track before the start, then showed early speed, but tired near the end. MARQUES DE SAN ROMAN ran in close pursuit vf the loaders to the stretch, then took the lead at the eighth post and when DOS ESTRELLAS swerved to the extreme outside, drew away and won in a canter. DOS ESTRELLAS rati well, but swerved, badly when called on and lost many lengths. ALERTA set the pace and ran a good race, but began to tire at the last sixteenth post.
