CHARLESTON STAKE DATES ARRANGED. Columbia, S. C. December 11. Francis J. Pon3 came over from Charleston this morning. He reports that rapid progress is being made on J lie new course and that a great amount of local interest is being taken in the meeting scheduled to open there January 10. Tho little unpleasantness that the Columbia management has experienced, and which, by the way, apiears to have been smoothed over, will have no effect whatever on the meeting at Charleston, Mr. Pons says. The dates on which the stakes will be run were announced today. They are as follows: January 10 Sumter Inaugural Handicap. January 13 St. Johns Hotel Selling Stakes. January 19 Robert K. Lee Handicap. January 27 Columbia Selling Stakes. , - February 3- Charleston Hotel Handicap. February 7 Battery Park Selling Stakes. February 10 Juvenile Stakes. , February 14 St. Valentines Day Selling Stakes. February 17 Debutante Stakes. February 22 Washington Birthday Handicap. February 2S Isle of Palms Selling Stakes. March 2 Citadel Handicap. March 0 Georgetown Stakes. March ! South Carolina Sclliug Stakes. March 13 Calhoun Stakes. March 20 Pine Forest Inn Stakes. March 23 Argyle Hotel Handicap.
