BOOGER BATTLE, after being well up from the start, took the lead when an eighth out, but his rider was nearly caught napping when JOHN HECK came with a great final rush. JOHN HECK was outfooted in the early running, but came fast through the stretch and almost got up to win. HOMESICK set a fast pace, but tired in the final furlong. LIT-TE MARCHMONT legan slowly, but moved up fast in the stretch and just got up to win in the final stride. KIDDY LEE ran well and appeared the winner when a hundred yards from the finish, but tired under punishment. BARNEY OLDFIELD did not get to running freely until too late, but closed a big gap and finished fast. CHESS alternated with ROSEWORTH in pacemaking to the stretch, then quit badly. ANTIGO ran well aud outgamed THE VISITOR in the anal strides, a he latter ran in nearest pursuit to the stretch and tired. SUGAR I I MP forced the pace for the first mile and, taking the lead in the stretch, stayed well and finished holding his own. THE MONK jumped up in the air at the start and lost considerable ground, then closed up gradually into a fast going second. FIGENT trailed for the first mile and came through the stretch with a rush.
