HORSES IN TRAINING AT LOUISVILLE Louisville Ky August 5 Among the horses al ¬ ready quartered at Douglas Park are those of Thomas Fortune Ryan who has eleven in training including the good filly Wondawhy Daingerfield Bell Nelson Turkey in the Straw and Silver Moon The Ryan horses are being handled by the veteran trainer Si Hughes who will race them on the Ken ¬ tucky tracks during the coming fall fallRichard Richard F Carman Is another Easterner who has taken advantage of the splendid conditions for train ¬ ing at Douglas Park He has eighteen horses In training in charge of his foreman Mr Carman hav ¬ ing KOno to England While abroad he will endeavor to pick up a candidate to carry his colors in the Kentucky Endurance Stakes to be run at Churchill Downs in October Among the Carman horses are the good performers Meridian and Starbottle both of which are being pointed for the Endurance Stakes in order that he may have an entry in the event that he fails to pick up a good distance racer in Emrland EmrlandLon Lon Johnson has five in training while Herman Brandt lias a small but select string which he will set ready for the Lexington meeting C Van Meter has five horses in training the best known of which is Nobby a frequent winner during the spring meet ings The ATau Meter horses are in splendid condi ¬ tion arid ready for the races racesJ J C Cahn has made application for four stalls ami will come from Latouia this week Among his horses is the consistent Mockler winner of several races during the spring meetings James Everman onmo from Latonia recently and engaged stable room He will bring here Stone Street a Kentucky Derby winner T M Green Mack B Eubanks Mc Clintock and several other horses which he lias In training trainingLuw Luw Marion will move over from Churchill Downs this week He has a large number of horses in training principally twoyearolds
