FEWER STALLS AT CHURCHILL DOWNS The improvements now going on at Churchil Downs will decrease the number of stalls within that enclosure to alxnit SO Tho stable removed from the grandstand side of the course to the back stretch side contained seventytwo stalls and Is being rebuilt with sixty stalls To locate It whero it now is requires the tearing away of another stable of twentyfour stalls and the receiving shed demolished on tho grandstand side contained thirty three stalls This is a total of sixtynine stalls abolished and they will not lx replaced until new stables are constrnoted at some future date Tso building will lie erected on the sight of the old clubhouse demolished last fall The spot will bo beautified in rememherance of the late Col M Lewis Clark the first president of the noted racinsj plant
