The card was accounted for by three long shots, two favorites and a second Choice. Odelia. from the stable of Benson and Pierce won the third race from a fairlv good band of sprinters at the long odds of 20 to 1. Jladvs Y.. starting for the lirst time, carried the colors of W. E. The peculiar symptoms exhibited induced the belief that she had been poisoned, in consequence of which the board of stewards ordered the track veterinary. Dr. Cann reported today that after a careful analysis he could find no traces of poisoning, but that the mare had succumber to a violent attack of spinal meningitis.
