NOTES OF THE TURF. The death is reported from Toronto of Robert Kirkwood, widely known as ••Sandy" Kirkwood, who raced such good horses in his time as Aiistraliua and Miss Meade. He was a native of Toronto and wns thlrty-eighl years of age. He was at one time Interested in a bookmaking venture. Alexis Wilson, who has made an auspicious start as an apprentice rider at Juarez this winter, is .i Toronto boy ami not yel thirteen years old. When In- was eleven veals of age he won live firsts as an exhibition rider at tin- Toronto Horse Show.
