OLDTIME RIDER AT LOUISVILLE Louisville Ky April 21 Eddie Ellis an attache of thi Louisville Water Co vfsited Churchill Downs yesterday for the purpose of meeting his old friend I 1 Weir trainer of the unbeaten twoyeardid Old Rosebud It is not generally known among Ids presentday acquaintances that at one time Ellis was a great race rider He won for Weir alone some 70 races in the days when Outtenhnrg Glou ¬ cester and Iron Hill flourished The noted horses ridden by him included Little Frud Ma Belle and the wonderful Eclipse Con Lucy is another great one that Ellis oftpn rode In one season Con Lucy won thirtyseven races which is considered a record
