BUILDING RACE TRACKS ON PAPER. Toronto, Ont., October 2. A story is printed in a Hamilton paper to the effect that R. J. Macken- zle. son of Sir William Mackenzie, backed up by a syndicate of ten other Torontonians. has secured an option on fifty acres of land at Burlington Junction, veil miles "from Hamilton, and that a mile race course will be built there, which will also lie included In the grand circuit for trotters. So far as Mr. Mackenzie Is concerned. It was stated at the Canadian Northern olllces here that there is not the least vestige of truth in the story, which appears to le one of the "annuals" that make their abearance as soon as the racing season Is over. The membership of Burlington Junction in t he grand circuit is declared by harness racing nieai to stamp the whole affair as a Joke. j
