GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION. Lexington, Ky., October C. H. H. Hewitt has moved his mares and foals from E. R. Bradleys Idle Hour Farm to George Stolls farm. The Meadows, Mr. Bradley not having room for them. Mr. Hewitts mares and foals are as follows: Coy Maid, br. in, by Kingston Bonnie Gal, ami foal by Peep oDay. Mare mated this season to Star Shoot. Run of Luck, br. m. by Wagner Fair Fortune, and foal by Peep oday. Mated to Peep oDay. Inspiration, ch. in. by Ayrshire Sister Mary, and foal by Sain. Mated to Sain. Aviston, ch. in, by Ayrshire Miss Ellle, and foal by Ormondale. Mated to Ballot. Angerona, b. m. by Sir Dixon Falaska. Mated to Peep oDay. Angeronas foal by Ormondale died. Mr. Hewitt is thinking of mating his mares next season to Coy Lad, br. h, 4, by Peep. oDay Coy Maid. J. I. Smith, trainer of the Hewitt stable, has taken up the following yearlings at the Kentucky Association course: Brown filly by Peter Pan Coy -Maid, by Kingston; chestmit lilly by Cunard Inspiration, by Ayrshire; chestnut filly by Cunard Run of Luck, by Wagner; chestnut filly by Cunard Angerona, by Sir Dixon. He has also taken up the two-year-old Lucky Wave, ch. f, by Cunard Run of Luck. Lucky Wave has been turned out all the year. Mr. Smith will send Coy Lad to Latonia for the coming meeting. News has been received here of the death in Los Angeles, Cal., of former jockey J. F. Moonev. who died September 20. He was well known here and is survived .by two sisters in tills city. Miss Carrie Mooney and Mrs. E. L. Robyn, and a brother, former jockey W. Mooney. He is also survived by a wife and three children. Charles W. Moore, of Mere Hill Stud, has sold to M. B. Gruber the bay colt brother to Paris Queen by McGee Interview, by Ingoldsby, and to Win. Walker the bay colt hy McGee Intrigue half sister to Sweep, by Kingston. John E. Madden of Hamburg Place has purchased from John D. Carr the chestnut lilly by Peep oDav White Owl. by Ingoldsby. James II. Haggin, New York sixrtsman and copper magnate, who was reported seriously 111 at his Kl-meudorf estate near here a week ago. has so far recovered as to dispense with the services of attendant physicians. He Is feeling himself and is also planning a trip to Europe. His physician says his vigor and prompt recovery from the late attack of pneumonia is marvelous in view of his age.
