ANOTHER ACCIDENT AT HILLCREST. Toronto, Ont., October G. A serious spill marred todays racing at Hillcrest Park. The accident came in the final race on the dangerous eastern turn, where Gagnant, while running In second lMisition, crossed ids legs and fell. All the horses following hut Dorothy Webb went down and Gagnant stepped on jockey Fergusons head. The lad was rushed to the hospital with a badly gashed face. Jockev Franklins head was cut. but the rest escaped. Jockey V. Adams, unseated by Mary Pickford in the first race, was badly bruised and cannot ride tomorrow. The favorites were in eclipse today, Sungulde being tin? only one to score. Mrs. Lally. at 15 to I, won the second race and Rose Onell. a despised S to 1 outsider, was also among the days winners. The slxtii race provided another upset-when Cassowary, at S to 1, scored In runaway fashion. Jockey Dalton McCarthy was taken ill after the third race and was forced to cancel his remaining engagements.
