ASTUTE IS DISQUALIFIED REPENTANT AWARDED PURSE IN PIMLICO STEEPLECHASE AFTER INTERFERENCE. Sam Hildreth Saddles Winner for August Belmont in All-Aged Maiden Race Double for H, G. Bodwell. Baltimore, Md., November Big fields were the order at Pimlico this afternoon and the racing was interesting throughout. The weather was much leaissanter that on the opening day and a big attendance was recorded. The Junior Steeplechase, lor three-year-olds, was the program feature and this divided interest with the two-year-old race that was second on the card. The former developed a disqualification, which resulted In the placing of the favorite, Repentant, in tirst place, Repentant Harbor Hill victory at Piping Rock naturally caused her to rule tirst choice in the betting. Astute cut out a fast pace and apparently had a safe lead in going to the last fence, but he began to tire when Repentant and Syosset challenged. J. Kermath. who rode Astute, pulled over close to the rail and shut off Repentant. The latter rider prompt ly eiaimed foul, which the stewards allowed, giving the race to the favorite and placing Svosset second and Rhomb third. August Belmonts Top Hat graduated from the maiden class in the opener, but it is possible be would have Ikm-u second had not Kewessas saddle slipped not far from the liuisli. The latter set the paw and was far in front on turning for home. It was when jockey Callahan went to a drive that bis saddle slipped. Mr. Belmonts FHtaway was thought to have the best chance in the two-year-old race, but she could do no better than tinish fourth. Bedwell took two races, witli Pardner and Righteasy. W. U. Carson will ship bis stable from Laurel to Juarez tomorrow. Wayne Joplin claimed Black Chief from .T. F.
