CHARLESTONIAN went to the front with a rush soon after the start and, setting a fast pace, drew away Into a long lead and was pulling up at the finish. THORNHILL began slowly, but moved up rapidly while rounding the far turn and, finishing gamely, may improve. PRINCE CHILTON ran well and outgamed OANTO for third place. The latter began Uatfooted and, closing a big gap, finished fast and close up. SOME KID was shuttled back at the start and made up ground. MARTIAN. ran fairly well. Scratched 123S6 Fuzzy Wuzzy, 109. GOLD CAP ran on the inside for the entire way and, hanging on resolutory in the final drive, out stayed WATER WELLES in a closely contested finish. The latter appeared to be a certain winner on the stretch turn, but finally succumbed under a comparatively weak finish. ROD AND GUN was a forward coatender for five-eighths, then tired. The latter was crowded out at the. start by CHEROKEE ROSE II. and closed a big gap. AMBROSE quit in the last quarter. McCahey fell off STAR GAZE before they had gone a Sixteenth. SILENT PILOT began slowly, but gained steadily and finished fast. STROMBOLI set a fast pace, but was made too much use of and was tiring at the end. ROBERT OLIVER closed a big gap.
