NOTES OF THE TURF. M. J. Winn left El Paso yesterday to siieud the holidays with Ills ramily in Louisville, Ky. He will return to Juarez immediately after the New Year. A. L. Kirby. representing J. B. Respess, sold the two-year-old filly Scarlet Oaks to Mrs. H. D. Poyneer at Juarez Saturday. Scarlet Oaks lias started three times and lias not been defeated. The terms of the present racing commissioners in Kentucky will expire in March next ami Governor McCreary will be called upon to appoint the now commission. It is hinted that one or two members of the commission may not accept re-appointment. E. R. Bradley, who has arrived in Chicago to spend the holidays, is enthusiastic over the yearlings owned by James Butler. He saw thein while in New York a few days r.go and declares they are the finest looking lot ever sent from- the late J. R. Keenes stud. He particularly likes the Royal Rose. Cerlto and Noonday colts. The Bradley stable for 1014 will consist of 27 horses. Including thirteen two-year-olds, anil will begin its next seasons campaign iu Kentucky. Boots and Saddle, Bradleys Choice and Black Toney. the three-year-old stars of the stable, will be nominated for all the imiKirtaut Derby races of 1014 and Mr. Bradley expects them to wlna large share of such events.
