WOULD - IMPOSE HIGH FEE BILL PROIOSEB TO TAX MARYLAND RACE TRACKS ,000 PER DAY. Matter of Racing Regulation Still Hanging Fire in Maryland Legislature, hut Expected to Come to an Issue Soon. Baltimore, Mil., March 21. The Hall anti-race track betting bill is expected to come up in the House of Delegates at Annapolis late tonight. It should have come up this afternoon, but was not reached before a recess was taken. It is the understanding that Delegate Hall will seek to amend it by making the penalty for violation more severe, while Delegate IlolTuiau, of Wash ington County, will offer an amendment in the shape of a new bill which will prwride for a state racing commission and will fix the license fee for mile tracks at ,000 per day. At this rate the three tracks in Maryland would yield the state about 50,000 a year. This bill represents the views of the Pimlico people. The racing in connection with county fairs is to bo exempted from paying this high, license fee. A hot tight over the bill is expected.
