Gcnnnill. with four head, is anolinr turfman from Bciming who will race his stable hero. The horses of .lames Arthur, Kdward McBride, Frank J. Coleman, .Mike K el ley, J. M. W. Green. K. It is inevitable that the calculations of the regulars, who have been following the Charleston hirses during the past winter, will be subjected to a series of surprises at the forthcoming Jamestown meeting, as the class, condition and number of the stables already here gives indication of furnishing the southern delegation with the kei st of ton-tent ion. The Garth-Parr array of youngsters is one on which the turfmen themselves have little line, but which thev declare will prove to be a formidable lot. Trainer Garth never abandons activity at his farm near Charlottesville and he is a strong believer in plentv or work for the youngsters in his stable. s a result thev will be in a forward condition win n thev make their initial appearance here under colors, and should move to be iotent factors not only at Jamestown but on the metropolitan circuit. Miring the day Fred W. Gerhardy. associate judge and handicapper here, received notice from the Ha;n-ilton Joekev Club of his reappointment as one of the olllcials for that Canadian track. He has- written that he will accept the position, which he has tilled f. r many years. Mr. Cerhardy is here in charge of thi assignment of stable room for the arrivals and is completing other details of the meeting in conjunction with Manager I!ob Levy. . The westerners, who have been much in the minority during former meetings here, will be .in-nsuailv conspicuous during the coming meeting. Telegrams have been received from J. W. Parker, who Is coming with eight head, and S. A. Beckham mil C W. Scott with twelve head, all from lexas. notifying the management that they are on the way bv express from ICi Iaso. Judge Edward Cole. Steward Frank J. Bryan, Clerk of the Scales Herbert Conklin, Manager Levy and Handicapper and Associate Judge Fred Gerhardy are already here: Paddock Judge Harry White and Lienor tin- Course and Racing Secretary Joseph McLennan will arrive on the Charleston specials, over the Ulantlc Coast line. Starter Cassidy and Steward J. V Mitrphv are on the way from the west. Track Superintendent Miller will as usual hold the watch is ollicial timer. Now he is busying himself with nutting the final touches on the numerous improvements which lnive kept several gangs of men busy for the last month.
