MAY CONDUCT MEETING AT ALBUQUERQUE. F.l Pas.i, Tex., March 27. Manager W. A. Ho will know definitely in a few days whether lie will he able to give a meeting at that point If such a meeting can be ar-rntred it will be well patronized by the horsemen who have heen planning to ship to Denver for the June tneelng. J W. Fuller, well-known Texas turfman, who intended shipping his big stable of thoroughbreds to his farm in eastern Texas for a summers rest, has changed his plans and will ship to Kentucky, lie was unable to secure accommodations for his horses and employes on the Phigene PMrod special, but expects some horse caTS to arrive within a few days and he will then load his stable, embracing Dorothv Dean, Boy. Colquitt. Black -Eyed Susan, Toknv, Ask Ma, Smuggler, Toy Boy, and others. R M. Small, who has heen training the Fuller horses at Juarez, will remain with the stable. In addition to training, he will ride for the stable during the eastern campaign. There has been tnticn speculation concerning tho Tulsa meeting. The governor of Oklahoma has announced thnt he will not permit bookmaking and lluit if necessary he will have a company of militia at the track to enforce his mandate. The Tulsa Joekev Clnb insists that there Is no law prohibiting liookmaking in Oklahoma and that the meeting will lie run as scheduled. The club has retained former Governor Haskell as attorney and he has 1 .Turiounced tliat the state foas oio law governing rac- ing and Jiookmaking at the track. A legal battle over the matter is in sight, according to present indlc.it inns. Harry I". Breivogel, assistant manager of the Joekev Clnb Juarez, who was in active charge of the meeting following the departure of manager M. .1. Winn, is more than pleased with the result of the meeting which came to a close Sunday. "All former records have heen broken for attendance." said Mr. Breivogel, "We have been able to increase the purses and as a result the owners have reaped the benefit. The increased attendance has given employment to more men and the management of the track is gratified with the results. The Joekev Club Juarez expects to spend from ..-,000 to i?20,000 during the summer in the way of improvements ou the course. The outlook for the 1!U4-ir meeting is more than encouraging and we expect to have a banner meeting." Mr. Breivogel will remain in El Paso for a week or ten days to straighten out the business of the association and to supervise the starting of the improvements. He will then depart for Louisville where he will assist Manager Winn in arranging for the big spring meeting at Churchill Downs.
