GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION. Lexington, Ky., November 9. John II. Stamper. Jr.. owner of the Orpheum theatre in this city, who last week joined tile ranks of running horse owners bv purchasing Impression, yesterday added two grand looking yearlings by McGee to his string. One is a bav tillv out of AMrginia Moore and the other is a chestnut colt out of White Plume. Tlwy were bred bv Charles AV. Moore at Mere Hill Farm, from whom Stamper Ixuight them for a stiff price.-Tile voniigsters were shipped to Latonia today to 1 join the stable or John Hogan. and on Tuesday they will lie shipped to Charleston, where Hogan -will break and train them. Stamper has been trying to buy the yearling colt by Jack Atkin I.liiingowan. from Captain Thomas J. Clay, but he nays he will not pay the $.".,000 at which the colt is held. His first offer was $.".500 and this he raised to ,000. The colt worked yesterday at tlie Kentucky Association course an eighth in 12, with over 1ST pounds up. Trainer .T. I. Adkins todav turned out for the winter at Beaumont Farm Bnckhorn. Helen Barlee. San Acga. Sea Shell. Adelaide T. and Leo Skolny. Melton Street is also at the farm, but only temporarily. He has ben presented to the Canadian Breeding Bureau and will bo shipiied to Montreal. Secretary John F. Ryan, now in Kentucky, is working on a deal witii James P. Ross for Magazine and Alad River for the Bureau. Adkins will leave here Thursday for AAest Baden Springs. I nil., for a short sojourn, after which lie will go to San Francisco to spend about three months, then he will return to Kentucky and take up the Mackenzie racers and prep-are them for next season. He says it is possible, that lie will mate Bnckhorn and Helen Barliee next spriug. 1
