, TIME RECORDS OF THE CANADIAN TURF A The racing of 1014 in the Dominion of Canada was productive of three new Canadian records. Two of the three went to the credit of that sterling son of The Commoner Great Britain owned by G. M. Hen-drie, one of Canadas- foremost turfmen. Great Britains two records were made in long-distance racing and stamped him as a stayer of exceptional merit. At Blue Bonnets, September 12, he made a record of 3:00 tor out? mile and three-quarters, with 120 pounds up, and two weeks later, at Woodbine track, Toronto, carrying 120 pounds, he reduced the record lor two miles and a quarter to 0:54. Tlie other new Canadian record was made by R. 1. Dickinsons Lackrose, at Vancouver, B. C, July 20, when he ran five and a half furlongs in 1:05. Loveties record of 1:42 for one mile and seventy yards and War Whoops mark of .liSl1. for two miles 1 and a sixteenth are the American marks for those distances.
