THIRTY LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS. The suspension of jockey J. McTaggart by his contract employer, Hugh Penny, has put a new aspect upon the struggle for the years honors among American jockeys. McTaggarts absence from the saddle has enabled McCahey, his nearest rival to reduce the leaders margin to such slender proportions that it seems likely . a day or two will bring to the vanishing point and permit McCahey to assume the lead. Butwell is a close third. The record of the thirty leaders from January 1 to and Including the racing of Saturday last, is as follows: Jockey. Mts. 1st. 2d. 3d. Unp. P.C.L.W.
