NOTES OF THE TURF. Jockey J. Loftus, who retnrned from France not long ago. is having difficulty in getting down to 112 pounds riding weight at Juarez, and consequently has few mounts. Robert F. Lelghton, who for a considerable number of years has figured as an official in connection with race meetings in the northwest, has embarked in business at Vancouver, B. C. where he makes his home, as manager of the Castle Hotel. It was through his efforts that the MInoru Park race track was built at Vancouver and he served as Its racing secretary from the Inception of racing there. Judges Leighton, in retiring from the turf, will carry with him the well wishes of a host of racing friends for success and prosperity in his new venture.4
