BETTER SPORT AT JUAREZ WEATHER CONDITIONS BECOME IDEAL AND BIGGER CROWD TURNS OUT. Charity Ward, with the liberal price of 100 to 1 against her chances came dangerously close to winning the lirst race of the day, but Noblemau, the favorite, got up to beat her in the last stride. The Toluca Handicap, at live furlongs, brougnt out a small field of sprinters and developed a sensation when Joe Blair, showing a tremendous flight of speed, led with apparent ease for the whole distance. This horse raced with only medieore horses the past summer at Vancouver. Gipsy Love, the favorite, was second, while Othello, the second choice, was last. Kederis was trying to carry Othello out on the far turn and the stewards gave him live days on the ground for this offense. The time of the race was fast, tile five furlongs being run iu 59. Horses are still arriving. A carload came from Maryland with three of L. Aste, live of Early Wrights and two each belonging to II. Kerr and A. O. Nieliaust" Palmer and. Sells are on their way from Oklahoma with fifteen horses, mostly yearlings. The -horses belonging to the estate of J. J. Ferguson" are to be sold at Sacramento, Cal., at auction. It Is expected that they then will 1m shipped, here. Stake blanks for the coming two-year-old events were distributed today among the horsemen.
