MORE OWNERS FOR NEW ORLEANS. New Orleans, La;, December 11. Stable room for fourteen more horses now racing at Charleston has been applied for through Joseph McLennan, who is an official at the South Carolina track, and who will serve at the Fair Grounds as racing secretary. The horsemen applying and the number of racers they will bring are as follows: J. Boland. 1: E. I!. Elklns, 4; R. V. Haymaker, 2; J. Kelly, 1; J. Whal-en, G. Added to the list of applications for stalls for 31S horses which was filed through Mr. McLennan a few days ago, this assures 332 horses from Charleston. The prospects are that four hundred or more will come from there. H. G. Bedwell will send a carload of twelve or more thoroughbreds here shortly so they will be ready for the opening days racing, Mr. McLennan stated in his most recent letter. Much enthusiasm is felt among the horsemen at Charleston over the New Orleans meeting, and. judging from the number of horses already here and the number expected from Charleston, there will be no lack :-f entries for the Fair Grounds races. Jake Marklein brought word from Cincinnati that Iif all llklihood Jack Weaver, owner of Gowell and otherhorses. would ship here before the end of the month. Mr.- Marklein says that many in Cincinnati cmj Louisville are getting ready to visit New Orleans for tlie winter meeting. The association has decided to make Jan. 4 ladles day, and there will be others throughout the season.
