ST LOUIS MOVEMENT TAKING SHAPE St Louis Mo April 2 The most determined fort to revive racing in Missouri since the state passed under the administration o Governor iFolk has culminated in a petition to 1roseciiting Attor ¬ ney Uichard Ralph of St Ixmis county signcJ by many of the most representative men in St Louis asking the prosecutor to pass on the question of horse racing in St Ixiuis county countyThe The petition points to the decisions in Xew York which will permit horse racing there and argues that lh statute u Missouri is the same The peti ¬ tion followed a thorough discussion of the situation by the Business Mens League of St Louis It is a further move made by Joseph A Murphy who wrote the racing bill which tiled in committee during the recent legislature legislatureBefore Before departing for Baltimore to preside at the Bowie meeting Judge Murphy said saidWhile While I am in the east I shall make an exhaust ¬ ive study of the conditions in Xcw York and will lay them before Mr Ralph on my return We will ask no tolerance no favors We shall simply ask lftr the law and then determine whether we can HVP under it We will break no laws nor ask any ¬ body else to break them
