BELMONT PARK STATE DATES SET Xew York April 2 While the program book of the Westchester Racing Association will not he published for some time the order of the running of the stakes for the meeting which opens at Hel mont Park May 20 has been decided upon As itsnal the Metropolitan Handicap will be the open ¬ ingday feature with the Xew York Steeplechase as a companion piece Saturday May 22 the two stakes will be the Juvenile and the Hollis a selling affair Tuesday Slay 25 is the nuxr stake day and the international Steeplechase is the fixture Thurs ¬ day May 27 the Bouquet a selling stake for two yearolds will be decided The Withers and the Amateur Cup have been set for Saturday May 21 Monday May 31 which is Decoration Day the Toboggan for sprinters and the Grand Xational Steeplechase are the special numbers numbersWednesday Wednesday June 2 Is one of the days on which racing at the Locust Valley course of the Piping Rock Racing Association will conflict For that rea ¬ son the program at Belmont Park will contain no crosscountry race anil in other particulars an effort is made to have the racing altogether different The Fashion and the Harlem Selling Stakes are the two set for that day daySaturday Saturday June 5 is the other Piping Hock day and on thar occasion the Belmont and the Ladies Handicap will be decided The last stake day of the Belmout Park season will be Wednesday June when the Keene Memorial for twoyearolds is to be run The runThe fact that Decoration Day falls on Monday has caused the association to postpone the ladies day for that week until Wednesday June 2 Kaeh other week Monday will be ladies day On each of the Hires Saturdays as well as Decoration Day the in ¬ field will be thrown open to the public free of ciiargp Last season this free field was popular and 5t is certain to be much more so this year yearThree Three of the steeplechase stakes that are to be run during the Belmont Park mrcting closed yester ¬ day and each received a large entry Tills pictur ¬ esque end of racing is attracting many new owners this year and it promises to be better than ever lie fore foreThere There are twentysix entries for the Grand Xational Steeplechase to IK run at Belmont Park this spring This is live less than were named Hast year The list for the International shows in increase of one however there being thirty four entries I his year Thirty are entered for tho New York Steeplechase Flanders a sixyearold Jumper belonging to Mrs Payne Whitneys Gieen free Stable is entered for all three races hav ¬ ing only recently been brought to this country from England for the 1015 racing season The Jiorse is by Burgomaster Fiesole and is expected to prove a strong contender for honors through the field this year August yearAugust Belmont has made two nominations for the fixtures They are Top ITnt and Mission Archibald Harklie has named iBlankenburg and Alwavs First F Ambrose Clark has live entries Mie largest nunilier of the list for every event They include Lysander Meadow Lark Meadow ¬ sweet Rahab and Knight of Merci R T Wilson nlans to start Penobscot the veteran campaigner in all three races and L Walter Lisslinrger will do the same with Syosset
