November 20. — Announcement j that there will positively be no change in the sys- j tem employed duriiK the race meeting of 11H4-15 j the Fair Grounds is made on authority of otti- j cials of the Business M-ens Racing Association. The j reason for this, it is declared. Is that no better plan of operation could be devised or one more satisfactory in its ultimate result. The association is ] primarily interested in the sport because of the economic phase of the enterprise. Its method of doing , business was originally pitched on a plane that put every system necessary to tlie workings of a mammoth plant alxive the reach of selfish interest, and j is not proposed now, it is said, to depart from ! that business-like rule of action. Executive Committeeman Miehaelis has returned from a tour of western cities with reports of much interest in New Orleans all down the line. At Cin- cimiati Mr. Miehaelis found electric bulb signs and , placards in the railroad offices advertising the New Oilcans winter meeting and referring to this city as the "Winter Capital of America." He found unusual interest in the Crescent City also at St. Louis and as far north as Dayton. O. Eate arrivals at the Fair Grounds include W. II. Fizer*s string, embracing Little Bigger. Alex Getz, j W. W. Clark. Tallyrand, Twilight. Neutral aud one ; yearling. Trainer Ed Moore is in charge of the con- ; tingent. S. Newmans tring. including Sands Dia- j monds, Eleanor. Clara Morgan. Mrs. Ed Moores : Bunch of Keys and E. M. Richards Bula Welsh and I Fair Baisy are also arrivals. O. W. Parrys Harry Shaw is to come south from Bowie. Judge Joseph A. Murphy and Associate Judge Joseph McLennan will leave for New Orleans immediately after the close at Bowie, which winds up the eastern racing season November 30. The Fair G rounds stables now house two hundred and thirty thoroughbreds. By the middle of December, it is predicted, every stall will be filled. Executive Committeeman I. E. Rennyson. A. B. Lettelier and M. Miehaelis are overseeing the ground improvements. The Ixmisiana Jockey Club has just let a contract for the repainting of the grandstand, the fences, offices, paddock and outhouses. The ; clubhouse, at the east end of the grandstand, will be remodeled and repainted for the season. This proved one of the most popular assets of last seasons meeting, furnishing a comfortable place of meeting aud repose for society folk.
