; " I I FOUR OF THORNCLIFFE STRING RETIRED. Toronto, Ont., December 12. — Plate Glass. Knights Differ, Moving Picture and Southern Maid, of the string that trainer Henry McDaniel handled for Robert Davies the past season, will not figure in racing again. The four have been retired. South- ern Maid and Moving Picture will go into the stud the coming spring. There are now twenty-one broodmares at Thorncliffe Farm, and nineteen of them appear to be with foal. There are but six weanlings on the place, and tbe colt by Orme Shore — Fair Annie is a remarkably good-looking animal.
