DIMINISHED GERMAN STAKE ENTRIES. That Germany is "feeling the pinch" is shown pretty plainly by the substantial falling-off in the entries for the chief races of next year at Berlin-Gruenewald and Hoppegarten. Several events which in the ordinary course should have closed in November, 1914. only closed this autumn. The Prets der Diana has dropped over fifty per cent, from seventy-five subscriptions for this years race to thirty-seven for next years. The drop in the St Leger from uinetv-one eutries to thirty-nine is even more marked. There was no Stuten Biennal run this vear, but compared with the previous one the entry for next year is only fifty-four as against eishtv-onc while the Iniou Beanen has declined from " seventy-three this year, and eighty-four in 1014 to fortv-tive. Several other races show a similar decrease. Were it not for the Royal Graditz i stud and such other prominent stables as those of Freiherr von Oppenheim the Herren von Weinberg. ; and Herr Hauiel. the entries would have been poor Indeed.
