COCHRAN STABLES NOTABLE RECORD. He* Orleans. I„i.. Januarv 8. -Trainer William R Midgely. who is handling the horses at the- lair mounds belonging to Gilford A. Cochran, wealthy eastern turfman, has been liberal in his entries to i lie two-year-old races to date- and it is hardly likely that auy of bis juveniles will leave here a maiden. Of the five t w o yeai -obi races run up to yeeterday, the Cochran stable- accounted for three with Noium-l. -ga nights Fancy and Wistful and ran second and third in the other two with linger Quill. Trainer Midgelv has thirteen two-year-olds here and most of them will be sold. Mr. Cochran is a newcomer in racing, having be-on ae-tively connected wilh the snarl for only I year e.r two. but he is an enthusiastic turfman and wants nothing but the best in the line of race horses. Trainer Midge-ly has bnesj I valuable iniin for hiin. hnviug ween for him many races anil his judgment iu purchasing horses has- been excellent.
