Tex., January 10. — The scTca-eighths handicap tiiat had the place Of honor on the Juarez program today, brought out the pick of the sprint-J era in training at the track and resulted In a vi - toiy lor Lofton, which dashed to the front with the rise of the barrier aud was never headed. The race was robbed of sonse nf its interest when Blarney, one of the choices and running for the first time in the colors of W. F. Knebelkamp. propped as the ball I 1 vent up and was left at the post. The win-9 ner was a staunchly bached favorite. Cecil, which was unlucky to have lost a race yesterday, came back aud won the opener today as a favorite of the receding type. Thelina Marie was backed into favoritism for the second ami made good by boating Panhachapi aud the others opposed to her. Frokendale went to the post an oild.s on Choice for the third, but hud to the suddenly improved Flitaway by a head. Little Jake and Colle. the remaining winners. were quoted at remunerative odds. A license was granted to Mrs. M. K. Munson of Laurel. Md.. to train her horses. She has two at the Juarez track. This is the first instance in which a Woman has been granted .1 trainers license here. The Juarez track has been cut np a bit. which explains the slower time recorded in the racing of the past two days.
