GENERAL NEWS NOTES OF THE DAY. President Wilson soon will recommend the ennct-nient of legislation providing for a permanent tariff commission. An administration bill for the creation of such a Commission virtually is ready now and miy be laid before congress in a special message by tic president. The objeets of the commission would be to gather data on the tariff and to co-ordinate similar powers now believed to be held by existing government agencies.
