TIMELY GOSSIP FROM BLUEGKASS LAND. Lexington, Ky.. January 24. — James P. Ross, act-ting for the Kentucky State Racing Commission. today bought from W. K. Phillips, of Illinois, the stallion English Lad for service in the Kentucky Breeding Rureau. which is under the supervision of Prof. J. J. Hooper of the Kentucky State Iniver-sity. Luke, one of the bureau stallions, was shipped to w. M. Flower at Padncah J. S. Hawkins today bought an interest from T. J. and ti. II. Clay in Margaret N. Grover Hughes, who will this year train the horses belonging to Arnold and Co.. iu addition to those owned by J. H. Stamper, Jr., today took up Rig Fellow and Incle Will. Trainer Charles H. Hughes has gone to West Baden Springs to be wilh K. J. Mackenzie and Jack Adkins for several daya.
