UNITED HUNTS FINE SPRING PROGRAM. Amateur racing has increased in popularity so much in the last few years that the United Hunts Racing Association has been tempted to branch out in making its plans for the coining season. The program for tin- two days- Spring meeting on May l:; and 17 at Belmont Park Terminal was issued Friday at New York ami contains some Startling increases in the amount of added money over the rather modo-i purses competed for by the hunting set in previews rears. Tlie big event will be the Inited Hunts Steeplechase, which, with ,304 added money, will rival such anted I ines lOnalll events a- the Whitney Memorial and Harbor Hill Cup contests. A subscription of $.-,11 is charged and a starting fee of 00 additional if the entry is made before March 15. or 00 if made after and before April 15. This, it is estimated, will bring the value to the winner up to S5.000 if there are thirty entries. The race is a handicap over two miles and a half for four-year-olds ami upwind, and is calculated to bring the best of the cross country division to the post. In all the races not confined to gentlemen riders the amateurs will receive an allowance of five pounds from the professional*. In addition to the regular prizes a piece of plate will be given to the rider of the winner iu each race, provided he is a gentleman rider. The races scheduled sre: First Day. Second Race — The North Shore: a handicap for three-year-olds and upward; by subscription of 5 each, to the winner, with ,800 added; one mile and a quarter. Third Race — The Timber Toppers Champion Chase: for hunters: by subscription of 5 each, starters to pay 8 additional to the winner, with ,000 added; about four miles over a timber course. Fourth Race — The Hreat Inited Hunts Steeplechase: handicap for four-year-olds and upward; by subecripth n of 0 each, starters to pay 00 additional if entered by March 15. or 00 each, with tarlers to pay 00 additional if entered by April IS, to the winner, with ,500 added, of which 00 to the second horse and 00 to the third; about two miles and a half. fifth Baa — The Turf and Field: handicap for three-year-olds and upward; by subscription of 5 each, to the winner, with 00 added: one mile. Sixth Race— The Hopeful Steeplechase: for maidens and winners of one race: four-year-olds and upward: by subscription of 5 each, to the winner, with 00 added: aliout two miles. Seventh Race— The Loyalty: handicap for four-year-olds and upward that started two or more times in either flat races or steeplechases at hunt meetings in 1015: bv subscription of 0 each, to the winner, with 00 added; one mile and a quarter on the flat. Second Day. Fifth Race — The Terminal: handicap for three-year-olds and upward: by subscription of 5 each, to the winner, with 00 added; about six and a half furlongs. Sixth Race — The Old Gasid. steeplechase for non-winners of 00 in 1915 10: by subscription of 5 each, to the winner, with 00 added; about two miles.
