May 20. and close at the same track Saturday, September 30. Trainer Thomas McCreery has none down to the Johnson farm near Bound Brook. X. J., to look over a collection of young thoroughbreds, many of which are the get of Bonnibert. Should he like the yoaag- sters and their prices he vyill make some purchase. Forty entries at 5 each are stipulated for in the substitute Grand National Steeplechase, to be run at Gatwick Park on March 24. and acceptors will pay 00 each more to start. The race is to be called the Racecourse Association Steeplechase, worth ,500. and a 25 cup to be given by the Liverpool Club. It is o| en to five-year-olds and upwards over a course of four miles. 856 yard-. and the weights will range from 133 BO to 175 pounds. The amount of added money at the V. R. C. autumn meeting will total S8S.5O0. which i- an increase of ,250 over that given last season. There has been no alteration in the stakes to be won over the Xewmarket Handicap and Australian Cup, but in the future the Champion Stake — lo be known as ••The Kinds Plate will only be worth ,000 Instead of ,806. ir a change must be made, why not call it King Georges Plate.
